Why are the birds so generous?
Are they conscious of their gift?
Do they fly to remind us of freedom?
Do they dip and wheel to dispel the bonds binding our earth bound limbs?
For a brief moment question and answer collapse.
In a hidden corner
Something was found
Memories of loss
Clothes green and brown
Too many faces
Seen from afar
Order confused
In the grand bazaar.
In the days of quiet
We live in riot
I wonder which
To fade or stitch.
Ripple and rhyme
Forgetting is crime
Deploy and embrace
Honour given to those who face.
Graze and travel the maze
Or dazzle and amaze
These things quickly fade
Can we afford to raid
Only one thing is left
In the crook and cleft
Staring back
A silent cat
Gives no quarter
Eternal mortar
The valley of youth
Seclude and raw
Given to abandon
Seeing no flaws
Trembling ground
Shook tranquility
An unstoppable flow
Revealing fragility
Innocence taken
Doubt uncovered
Reflections begin
Forever smothered
